So we call that luck...not receiving a certain promotion, for example, because we were not in the right place at the right time to receive it. Bad Luck, right? Your call, but I suggest otherwise.
What promotion did you miss because you were not prepared, not diligent in seeking, not available psychologically or emotionally, not impressive to the boss because you insisted upon showing/using those untoward components of your personality, or ???
Is that Luck? I think not! Rather, it is lack of focus, poor preparation, refusal to do what is necessary, unwillingness to learn what is necessary, or just plain laziness.
