Vodka Celebration Update

I asked other people in Ukraine about the Vodka Holiday and they knew nothing about it. They just laughed and said EVERYDAY is a Vodka Holiday in Ukraine. My favorite story about vodka is my own experience. Several years ago I was in Moscow, Russia heading for the airport. I remembered I had promised a bottle of Russia Vodka to a friend (name will not be given to protect the guilty). I hurriedly purchased a bottle from a local store. It was less expensive than bottled water ($1.25). My friend said it was the "smoothest" vodka he had ever drank. I wonder what the $40 bottle would be like??? By the way, did you know that the word "Vodka" is a diminutive of the Slavic word voda/woda for water. No wonder they drink it like....."WATER." We are always told to "drink plenty of water!"
