California Proposition 8 "NO" Proponents Accuse Lies by YES Proponents

My last post stated Proponents of a NO VOTE on California's Proposition 8 claimed the YES VOTE Proponents were telling lies in their advertising. It was suggested that California School would not be required to teach Same Sex marriage on an equal basis as Heterosexual Marriage. Even I was not certain of the legal status of the California Education Code until I read the letter from the YES Proponent's Legal Counsel. Counsel Andrew P. Pugno's letter clearly illustrates that if same sex marriage remains legal in California and if a school district chooses to teach sex education (96% of California school districts choose to teach sex education), then the district will be REQUIRED to teach marriage as part of sex education and do so without discrimination.

Read the letter for yourself, which contains the legal points and authorities.

This letter was written by Mr. Pugno to television station managers in response to the NO Proponents writing to station managers claiming the YES Ads to be untrue and requesting the station not run the YES Proponent's ads.
