When us kids would be complaining about something we did not have, but thought we should have, GW would say “If wishes were fishes, we would have some to fry.”
Yes. True. If we had some fish we could fry and eat them. But GW’s intended meaning was deeper than eating fish.
Be happy about what you do have. Quit fussing about what you do not have. And, if you really want some “fishes” (or whatever it was), get to work to obtain what you want. Fussing and complaining never brought the prize.
